Burn the roof down

Let’s burn the roof down

With our fire and passion

Use our aesthetic nature

To verbalise our direct action

Turning up the pressure

On a system crumbling

Under the weight of cynical corruption

So blatant now the don’t even hide it

Capatalism as result is dying

And it’s every one for themselves

As the exploit what’s left

These old archaic monoliths

Are too close to death

To care about the future

Or even for their children’s children

They are so consumed with greed

That I find it really chilling

That they are so devoid of compassion

Or indeed any kind of love

We have to realise now

That it’s all down to us

To create better societies

And find a better way

To formalise equality

In every fucking way

And if you think they won’t try and stop

Then my friend you’ll be suprised

By the venom and hatred hidden within them eyes

And through our cognitive existentialist mind

We can expose to those awakened all the systems lies

That are designed to keep us all in place

In a sedated and melancholy state

Unable to see the truth or question anything again

The power of expression is what they attempt to suffocate

But through our brave tenacity

Our creativity saves the day

And shakes their crumbling ivory towers

From the foundations underground

And just like the Walls of Jericho

Will come tumbling to the ground

And what will rise forth from their demise

Is a new era of hope

A world where we can all dream

Because this is the story that we wrote.

  1. This gives me hope. Hopefully, with creativity, we can leave the earth better than we found it. Thank you for writing this.
