Cast your mind back in time

Back to the fifties, monochromatic by design

But learning to find colour sublime

And these images spring to mind

Of laying back in Strawberry Fields

While space flight and moon landings seemed surreal

And we journeyed along route 66

Looking for a way to satisfy our kicks

While Nat King Cole sung it smoothe

All the way to heaven on rhythm ‘n’ blues

Where we were Calafornian dreaming

And talking to the trees

Listening to the Beatles carrying me

On wings on musical fantasy

We moved from black and white images to colourful scenes

And though life seemed much easier back then

We still had big dreams and I remember then

That this was a legendary time for people and images

That inspire reverie and warm fond memories of these days.
