The sulphur pits never dry up
The methane tunnels still exist
Yet in the midst of our chemically balanced madness
We thrive thanks to nitrogen and oxygen bliss.
Breathe in the good air kids
But kind the pesticide pollution
And the aviation fuel
And motor car fuel particulates
That penetrate and fill your lungs
Yet you may still be the lucky ones
As future less lucky generations
Struggle in a less well balanced place
With a lack of trees and the toxic wastes
That chemical companies create
Which is why we need a change
Not later that’s not good enough
It needs to be urgent and right away
To stop this earth’s man made destruction and decay.
