Hopes dashed, what a bitter blow
Dreams crushed, feeling so low
Greed wins out over empathy
I sit tearful, my heart bleeds
Division, hate and lies pave the way
Love, compassion and equality fades to grey
It breaks my heart to see how this is played
But somehow we must rally and rise again
In the cold light of day we must try once and for all come what may.
