Australia is burning

My heart goes out to Australia burning

I feel the climate tide is turning

We are taking to long to make a change

The heat is turning up on us in the worse way

People and animals forced to flee

There is very little done or said globally

Australia is burning we must pray for them

We must reach out hand out and offer to help in any way we can

For Australia is burning we could all be next

If we don’t change our ways on the block will be our necks

Australia is burning the warning signs are here

This is fucking reality not just irrational fear

Australia is burning what are we going do

Stand back and do nothing?

Well that is just no use and is no good.

  1. The pictures I see daily from Australia sicken me. I remember when the Boxing Day tsunami struck all those years ago, thinking that this was Nature speaking. How many warnings do we need? The wildfires on our west coast are terrifying too, more each year. Before I left Washington State even we had smoke from fires not so far away. But the Australian fires are like a holocaust and my mind keeps going to the millions of wildlife lost. Very sad. I’m not sure prayer works and I do not know who to pray to. I do my best to conjure up positive thought but it’s getting harder every day. Thanks for your post.

  2. Thank you for writing this. I am very close to some of the fires here and it is very frightening. That said its a wake up call so I hope some action is taken. The very sad thing is that many of the fires were deliberately lit so its not all on climate change though we know its a huge issue. The destruction of humans knows no limits sometimes. So heartbreaking.

    1. Hard to understand why people would start fires deliberately. Stay safe my friend, my thoughts and prayers are with you. 👃

  4. I live in Melbourne and today an eery haze covers the blue sky and the acrid smell of smoke is in the air. I have friends holidaying in spots that are being evacuated. It’s truly terrifying!
