Bright lights and fame

I wonder how it would feel

All of the bright lights

And basking in the fame,

Where your work is well known

And everyone knows your name,

Where your words make a difference

And they effect real change,

I cannot lie I’d like to taste this

Even for just a short time,

And every word comes from the heart

I won’t be just spinning words that rhyme,

Because that’s how I’ve always loved my life

Except outside of the spotlight, the limelight,

Always out of sight and out of mind

So I’ve be waiting patiently biding my time

But my feeling is it won’t happen, I’ve excepted that

But I keep on right on track,

Dreaming of the bright lights and the fame

Persevering on to finally make my name,

Into the lips of those who hear and know the truth

About what I write about and offer for you to peruse,

And it make me happy knowing that you do

So in my own little micro world,

I have achieved what I wanted to do

To catch the attention of at least one or two,

People who understand the struggles we go through

Putting down our hearts on paper and baring our souls to the few,

While dreaming of the bright lights and fame in all truth

But I am still sadly a long way back in the queue,

So don’t hold your breath about seeing my name too soon

Up there in lights.
