Making our earth bleed

Disrespecting it environmentally

Pounding resources while putting nothing back in

Polluting the air, soul and sea

Is this the way it’s got to be?

Hurting people with cruel words

Being so selfish it’s absurd

Using descrimatory words

Disrespecting those who are different even though it hurts

Is this the way it’s got to be?

Left or right I don’t give s damn

Both extremes make life a sham

I am like a rat race member

Balanced and totally centered

Finding truth and not just repeating

Things I’ve been fed by the media

I won’t drink that poison

My words are how if feel within

Listen agree or not that’s your option

Is this the way it’s got to be?

Can’t we find a way to embrace tolerance and unity

Discover the power of respect and equality

Life can be a nightmare when it should be a dream

Is this the way it’s got to be?

If we all come together we can achieve anything

And enhance our humanity

This is the way it ought to be.
