There will be no forgiveness for the extinction that we caused
Due to a lack of harmony between humans, nature and animals,
There will be a final reckoning and though we should shoulder the blame
This is not the way it will go down, well scream and argue without shame
Acting like it’s not our fault it was everybody else
Black or white, left or right wing or a Christian or Muslim thing,
We never saw the wisdom in reducing down pollution
That may clean green energy from renewable resources,
Was a better path to take for insisting on travelling by planes and cars so far,
And learning to find a way to deal with all the waste that we create
Then there’s over population and ever increasing globalization,
Maybe clearing forests and destroying other species habitats was really not ok,
And meanwhile humanity glorified at it magnificent technological display,
That highlighted and put in center stage mankind’s ignorance in every way,
And no, there’ll be no forgiveness but the sad thing is no one will share or care,
They’ll fight each other until their final breath
While the rest of us stand back and just dumbfounded stare at their ability to hate until the bitter end,
But if we find the balance and harmony a way may just be found,
Out of the atmosphere of fear, to create a new path to new world and with finally clean air clean sea,
And a overriding opportunity to revive ourselves in a hope we can survive.
It sure is a wake-up call, isn’t it? About time we stopped abusing our Mother Earth and took responsibility for our wasteful ways. I like that you end on a note of hope though. I have that too.
