Caught in a maelstrom of feelings
I find myself rocking and reeling
I am far more emotional in these days
Seeing and feeling sights that break my heart
And I can feel the weight of suffering
Do much more than I ever have.
I grieve for those who have lost those close through violence
And for those who lost through this virus
I empathise and understand the harshness of loss
And it breaks my heart to feel their pain
In this difficult time and age.
I feel for those who suffer any kind of abuse
Racial and physical or mental too
It seems that ignorance is on the rise
In some stunted and uneducated or bitter minds
And I feel the angst and anger that those who are the victims
Have to go through each day
It’s not acceptable and we need it to change
And create a more enlightened world today
One without the need for violence, war and hate
But that seeks to eradicate suffering in everyway.
