They shout me down
They try and mock me,
For speaking up
For things that matter,
I stand up for the poor
They say it’s their own fault,
I stand up for nature
I am called a tree hugger,
I stand up for peace
That say that I am weak,
They say these thing
While shouting at me,
Because you see
The more loudly
And more aggressively,
The appear to me,
They figure will intimidate
And quieten me down,
They figure I will chose
To no longer speak,
About these things
So they think they win,
It when I write it down
Then their tactic no longer works,
So they choose to troll
Which is beyond my control,
But at least my message
Still gets out and gets heard,
And though they still
Find ways to try and hurt,
Me in anyway that they can,
To shut me up,
To shut me down,
It won’t work,
I just keep going,
Because my work
And my thoughts,
Are all I have,
And they’re based in kindness,
And they’re rooted in love,
And so I will not stop.
