Some days just getting by is hard enough
Struggling to survive this tough, rough life
Working out an existence, resistant
To all the hardships we have to endure
The physical and the mental stresses taking their toll
Trying to keep the warmth in
The cold permeating all around
Like the smell of the soup we eat to get us through
And when asked if this is really true
By the well off likes of you
I sigh a little, cry a little and die inside a little
For you’ll never know this life and how it is.
