Truth is if you write above love

You better be prepared to shout it out loud,

Because fear and hate take the front stage

That’s how society has gone these days,

But know the truth you’re not alone

If we work together we can be so strong,

Shout and scream on and on

Never give up no matter how long,

Maybe our words with never be elevated

But at least we’ve shown the world we’re creative,

Maybe we’ll never make it and be famous

But as long as my words help others then I am sated,

Maybe it’s that which holding me back

Or literary annunciation is the thing I lack,

A lack of intellectual academia

But I speak from the heart and I am a believer,

In keeping grounded, keeping it raw

And no matter how often I am beaten to the floor,

I’ll always get up and recite words of peace, light and love

And maybe in the end that’s good enough,

But I am still going to be pushing and shouting

Getting my words out, trying to be groundbreaking,

Trying to drown out the hate, violence and fear

With a message that resounds both loud and clear.
