My wishes

I wish I was not a witness

To some of the things I see today,

The judgement of different people

Their colour, sex and those of their faith,

I wish that people were more equal

And that everybody was free to have their say,

And if only all people could be more caring and sharing

We’d have no homeless or starving people today,

I wish I did not have to bare witness

To all of discrimination and vile hate,

Or the greed shown by corporations

Promoted by the media and backed by the state,

I wish that we could embrace love

And for once just give peace a chance,

I wish that we could all be united

Then maybe humanity may survive at last,

And then I wish we could all see the destruction

Wreaked on our planet by unscrupulous men,

And turn out in great numbers

And stop them from doing this damage time and again,

These are my wishes and my hopes and dreams

These are the things of which I am wishing,

And I do not think these things are to much

In fact I think they all make good common sense,

I wish we could all come together

And maybe we could finally start changing,

This world into a better place

For everybody to be living in,

This is simply all that I wish.
