Cobblestones under my feet
I walk these old streets,
Looking at people in shop doorways asleep
And could society allow all this,
Destitute beings who’ve lost their way
Lives that went wrong flowing down the drain,
Does society do enough or am I pleading in vain
For someway of ending this shame,
And I know it’s not just here it’s everywhere
A global issue that humanity shares,
It’s a fucking disgrace and a blot on us all
That we don’t do anything at all,
Like holding our society accountable
Telling failing governments they will fall,
If they cannot fix this issue which a terrible
Indictment on them for failing them all,
Who are homeless and sleeping rough and are destitute.
