The damage pain ravages in us
Can never be taken to lightly,
The savagery that rips through our lives
Should never be underestimated,
It eats away at our heart and soul
From birth until we are old,
And unless we learn to heal ourselves
We will be forever torn apart,
And we will never see the light again
We will only ever know the dark.
The light is within us at all times and all days. Darkness of our past is hard to erase but we do have choices in life-to heal from and move forward living in peace, light and love or be a prisoner of the past forever carrying burdens, darkness and pain. There is so much freedom in forgiveness (for others and for ourselves). We can heal from the traumatic events from our most recent past, as well as those things that occurred as a young child.
