Shattered lives

In broken towns,

Run down neighbourhoods

A place of ruined dreams,

Hear the anguished sounds

Of lost hope and suffering,

Shattered lives get nothing

No help, no kindness,

They’re just left to decay

Through overdosing,

And drunken displays

And people judge them for this,

Even though their lives

They know are hopeless,

They’re to futile to resist

The hand that they’ve been dealt,

So my sadness for them is heartfelt.
