Depression these days is like viral disease

Spreading everywhere infecting all,

In these days where so many have so much, there is,

Depression,

Yet back in harder times when so many had nothing at all

They coped,

Because they had no other option back then,

And it’s good to know

That there’s now help

But watch for those ones who use it,

Attention seekers and narcissists,

They have no qualms about using this

Depression,

It’s the unspoken, unacknowledged pandemic,

Killing millions,

Anti-depressants are no cure

There is no vaccine,

And we ask the question

Where does it come?

Many say they don’t know

But it comes from a fucked up society,

Where people are taught low self-esteem

Self doubt as well as self hate,

Social media plays it part

People rip out each others hearts,

By trolling and hating on others

In our society so many don’t know how to love,

It’s easier to hate,

So many people live in this negative state

And feed off others to make themselves feel great,

And when called out, claim they too are in a depressive place,

Depression,

The twenty first century disease

Great than any virus you’ll see,

Depression,

Nowdays it seems to be present in everybody that I meet.
