Compelling times in which we live
Where the rich hoard and the poor give,
Where to few people are unable to forgive,
Baring grudges and demonstrating hate
In left wing, right wing, white and black states,
Division is created within the place,
Of love and unity that should be overriding
Leaving families, mother’s, children crying,
Innocence seems be lost today
Seen more as collateral damage to our shame,
In this whole wide world in which we live
Compassion is being sucked away down one big sieve.
