We drown in a suffocating town
We try to live a life that’s profound,
We work and pay taxes to the man without a sound,
If this is how life is meant to be then I don’t understand
This doesn’t seem much like promised land,
Weary and weak at the end of each day
My body is riddled with aches and pains,
It feel a waste like it’s going down the drain
Are any of truly using our brains,
We work, we eat, we fuck
That’s all we can look forward to with any luck,
This to me is a life that sucks
Maybe it’s time to finally change things up,
But fortunately I’ve managed to retain the love,
For myself and all my fellow beings
And as yet I have given up on dreaming,
It’s time to give my life some real true meaning.
