Flying on broken wings

I fly on broken wings

Yet I keep on trying,

To be as inspiring

As I can be for all to see,

Hiding the damage

Covering up the pain,

We live in now a dangerous age

We lock ourselves into a cage,

Of identity and self restraining

Following others no refraining,

Never considering breaking free

It’s as if they relish captivity,

Yet if they break out

Then they would know,

It’s liberating and helps us grow

Being a free spirited soul,

Breaking out the cage we can glow

And light up the world with our freedom show.
