Did she ask for this life?
Living in the remnants of bombed out ruins
By brutal men, it was not of her doing
Where is the humanity in this
This kind of savagery should not exist
Clutching her doll to her chest
Shows mankind is not at it’s best
The fact these children are in harm’s way
They cry tears but does anyone care anyway
Two sides fight and the innocent pay the cost
How many lives of women and children must be lost
This sight really breaks my heart
All sides lie the moment the speeches start
And yet elsewhere children like her lay in the rubble
Killed and strewn around because of these troubles
They didn’t ask to be fucking victims
The fact that they are is so fucking sickening
It angers and frustrated me
That in so called advanced civilised societies
Children can be put in such harm
That those who plot attacks
Can actually get away with that
Brings shame on us all as a humanity
Imagine she were your child, I hope you wouldn’t be happy
Stop the senseless fucking destruction
Try to find away to a peaceful construction
Or be held to account as war criminals
They should be prosecuted for crimes against humanity
My eyes weep tears for her and my heart breaks
Let’s stop these brutal men who do this
And let’s build a road to change in this wake
Of unacceptable despicable behaviour.
