Under moon light

Underneath the stars and moon

Overlooking the city lights,

Hearing the hum of traffic and people

Feeling crazy like you don’t belong,

And needing something to help you cope

Started with just some harmless dope,

Worked your way then up to coke

Believing that it made you woke,

But on this night you’re taking your heroine hit

Felt good yeah but it was bad shit,

And as it travelled through your veins

Your heart beats in a way so insane,

Before finally it finally stops

And your mouth filled with froth,

And under the stars and moon of the night

Despite the hum and city lights,

You left it all behind and passed out of life,

There you sit dead because of drug life,

There you sit such a sad sight.

  1. This is a sad but well written piece. It is always so sad to see anyone get addicted to medication, sex, or alcohol. There are a lot of things people get addicted to. We have become a world addicted to our smart phones, preferring the company of what ever is in there then those around us, very sad. Sending out love and thanks for sharing this poem with us. Joni
