The snake

Capitalism and the people are like a snake

Curled round eating itself,

Slowly, out of greed

Devouring itself,

Feasting on itself,

Not realising that one day

It’ll eat to much of itself,

And simply die,

Killed by its own greed,

And because of its blindness

To what it’s actually doing,

Capitalism is just the head

Devouring us, the body,

The body may not be able

To live without its head,

But the head cannot survive

Without the body,

It’s this which defines us as equal,

So why is it we are not?

Why does the live in denial of this?

Because it’s blinded by greed.

Centuries ago the people were ignorant and were subjugated by the kings and the clergy. But now what excuse do the people have for still being submissive? I try to understand this but I can’t. Now people are just consumers and no longer people. They are all slaves to marketing and compulsive shopping. The image of the snake that you have chosen is really very strong but it is really perfect for this situation.
