In the middle of a party

She was drinking

She was laughing,

It was all about a good time

Then a man approached

And he then smiled,

Can I get a drink

Or can we share a dance,

She said no thanks

With a little indifference,

His face changed

It took to anger then

He stormed off,

Saying I bet she hates men

A little later she went upstairs

To use the toilet,

She had no real cares

As she came out the man was there,

Pushed back inside

Grabbing her by the hair,

Shutting the door he asked

Why are you such a bitch,

I was being nice

But you weren’t having it,

He said she was some kind of feminist nazi

Hating on men ruining his party,

He hit her, then pulled and pushed her

Like she was a rag doll,

Saying if you make a noise

Hell really lose control,

Terrified she just froze

What was going on she didn’t really know,

He banged her head against the wall

Her head was dizzy her eyes rolled,

Her ears rang so loudly

He bent her over the sink roughly,

He then assaulted and abused her

She had done nothing wrong

So why was he attacking her,

After he did what he wanted

Leaving her half undressed

He left her crumpled on the floor,

She heard him as he left saying ‘ I am sorry

I just get mad when rejected’,

That was his story

Truth is he’s just a fucking predator,

Nothing but a fucking abuser,

She got herself together

And fled the scene

Went to report it to the police,

They asked have you been drinking?

Maybe you led him on

That’s what they were thinking,

She said no that wasn’t true

They said then what else did you do?

She left the station battered and bruised,

They said we’ll look into it

And we’ll get back to you,

She knew they didn’t believe her

She went home frightened by what had occurred

But she was also very angry to

What gave him the right to do what he chose to do,

And why we’re the police of no use

This is how many women get abused,

It’s not safe being a women in this society

She was accused of naivety,

Police said it’s how you dress, and look

You come across as provocative,

In a society misogynistic

It’s easy to see how it gets twisted,

Don’t get confused this will not get fixed

By thinking this is not realistic,

Women get attacked almost daily

By men who act so saintly,

And we should all be fucking outraged

So stand up and have a fucking say today,

Silence only makes us culpable

Women suffer and that is indisputable,

They are not safe, that inexcusable,

It’s time to bring about change

Things like this should cause all us men real shame,

It’s time to put a stop to this and to behave,

Women are scared of men that’s the truth today,

No matter if we are their neighbours or just strangers

I don’t want a society like this,

It’s time we all stood up

And said we’ve had enough of this,

Women deserve proper justice

No more and no fucking less why do people not understand this.
