How the fuck are we supposed survive
And how the fuck are we going to thrive,
In times when things are getting harder
No matter how we try by getting smarter,
Fuel bills, food bills on the rise
Tax hikes, debts strikes at our lives,
Wages stagnate, we struggle with it
So it’s difficult to simply exist,
Cutting back on food and the energy we use
Is the only thing we can think to do,
And there are still people worse off than me and you
Yet there are also those who it’s fucking true,
Get richer exponentially off that backs of me and you
Who are not sharing the burden,
Who are not suffering like we do
Told we have to pay for the things we’ve been through,
But the richer never pay more which I think is cruel,
But that’s the way it is and though we may wish change
To many just accept this is the way,
So we’ll have to carry on and keeping striving just to survive,
Welcome to the fucking hard knock life.
