Held in captivity

By some other race,

One minute in my bed

But now in space,

Held by aliens

Not sure what they are going to do,

This is a message I send to you.

She sat in this room

After sending this text,

A figure came in

And said it’s maybe best,

You don’t try to send

Anymore messages to your friends,

Then he led her outside

And through the window

She saw the earth end,

She broke down in tears

And screamed how could you do it,

He looked quizzically

And said it was humans that blew it,

He opened other windows

And she saw many other crafts outside,

The alien said we saved those

Who had respect for all life,

But as humans you destroyed

The planet that you had,

You took it for granted

And transformed good into bad,

So you see your not a captive

But in fact you’re a survivor,

We saved you all from this funeral pyre

And now you’re a part of the cosmic choir,

Of lost souls uniting elsewhere in the universe

Where you’ll be able we hope to recover from your hurt.
