Inequality

There’s immense wealth

All around this globe

So nobody should go hungry or cold,

Yet they do and it’s not getting any better

Many people starve while other get deep into debt,

All of this just to survive, some struggling for water

All in an attempt to simply survive,

Tell me now why do they deserve this life?

They don’t and we all know it’s not right

And the only reason for this is greed,

Because of the hoarding of the selfish and powerful breed

Who protect what they’ve stolen from you and me,

Through use of the police and their armies

That’s how we’ve created a society in need,

These were the ones who planted that bad seed,

But we can still bring about meaningful change

But it’s up to everyone of us to take the lead,

No longer survival of the fittest but caring and equality

This must become our highest priority,

Living sustainably and environmentally green.

  1. Thank you for this poetic reminder about equality, solidarity and even fraternity which should be the main subject of our daily concerns in a world where still too many people die of hunger and poverty.
