It’s a punk thing

Going out for the night

Because London’s calling,

I found myself in a rut

And Babylon is burning,

I once fought the law but the law won

So now I just concentrate,

On writing a love song

My machine gun etiquette,

Style in which I write

Makes anarchy in the UK,

Seem almost polite

I want to feel the sense of barbed wire love,

Knowing that everything is going to be alright

We’ll be rocking the casbah,

Because we’re banned from the Roxy

And Dirk wears white Sox,

And there’s a hex as a proxy,

And you ask me if they owe us a living

And I say of course the fucking do,

As I heard a song that is spellbound

And it’s sung by Soixsie Sioux

And it’s a happy house I found,

Then across the room as I did peruse

Punks in full flow like a special brew,

This is my night and it’s nothing new,

And the moment that we

No that we have no more gigs,

Will be the day the country died

I’ll be glad of the punk life that I lived.
