Black orchids hang on walls displayed
For all to see and to be afraid,
By the symbolism that they represent
Of the imminence of someone’s death,
Or the death of all mankind
For failing to take seriously the signs,
That the arrogance and ignorance
That is displayed by those in charge everyday,
Are staggeringly poignant truths
That change is vital for me and you,
Or more black orchids hanging on walls are needed
Because the dangers were foolishly not heeded,
So that man’s extinction grows ever nearer
And black orchids will remain as a flag bearer,
To man’s insanity as well as man’s greed but ultimately for its full on brutality.
