Sometimes the problem is we care to much
And others realise this and then use us,
As the solutions to their problems
Then when it gets too much for us to handle,
We find ourselves cracking under the weight and the scandal,
That is the drama of their lives that they hope we can fix
Without trying themselves, it’s a clever trick,
Abdicating any responsibility to try and solve any of it
The stress and the pressure ends up on us,
And trying to live our own lives is enough
So it’s obvious trying to live another’s is just too much,
The only reason that we do it is out of duty and love,
But it’s a recipe for disaster in the end
We cannot expect other people to look to us to solve their problems,
That’s their problem too work out and too be solving,
After all what will they learn if we do it all
They will gain nothing really out of it for sure.
