Five years after the Grenfall fire

Five years on and seventy two dead

After the Grenfall fire left,

Families and the community bereft

Of loved ones who were burned to death,

All to save the council a few thousand pounds

Is that what seventy two lives are worth now,

Five years later there’s been no justice

Nobody has been held accountable yet,

Clad the building walls in materials of death

A flammable plastic that helped the fire spread,

When will people be held accountable for these seventy two deaths

Who have no rights because they have no breath.

  1. The truth is, I’m afraid, some people are just not regarded as important as others. There is no justice. Hard to believe it’s been that long.
