Despite the obvious flaws and failings
Somehow some people prefer to stay blind,
Ignorant to truth and to willing too
Buy into the reoccurring simplistic lies,
Why is it that in our society of fear and hate
They’re so easy to placate with material things,
And greedy hollow bargains based on the premise of division,
What will make them change I don’t know
Maybe in time, when they finally go,
To their maker our younger youth
Will reject the lies and embrace the truth,
And life for them will be better than it is now for me and you.
