Society today tells us always to be appalled
At those who take direct action and say their protest is flawed,
And then we wonder why nothing ever changes
Because all attempts of getting the message across,
Is met be a torrent of angry but passive outrage
Who is fed how to think and act, which is systemic of our age,
We are controlled and made to feel ashamed of our outrage
Gagged and muzzled by how they may be perceived,
They choose to keep their masters pleased
At the cost of stopping you and me,
From showing society the way that it should be
Not a country rooted in protecting corporate greed,
But one that considers people’s need
And both needs can be serviced equally in a balanced society,
But the poor are left to starve and on their knees
While the rich continue on becoming even more wealthy,
Is this truly your vision of a decent democracy.
