Sat on her horse on a verdant hilltop
Seeing her people ranged in lines,
It made her proud as they sang aloud
She knew nobody was worried in these times,
Because they had faith in her, their Queen
Because she always made herself seen,
And because she possessed a lionheart
And when the battle starts,
She’ll be right there in the heart,
Fighting for them and for glory
Already they were writing her stories,
Their Queen, their rose, their beautiful lionheart,
They knew she was doing this for them
They knew she was fighting in their defence,
And that she would fight to the end,
And as the battle roar went up
And as the swords and shields clashed,
The screams rang out and the blood it flowed
And at the end she was standing there,
On a mound of bodies holding a head by the hair
Of the foe who thought that they may scare,
But their Queen, their warrior and lionheart
Who cut off their leaders head and started to depart,
From this battlefield of blood and angry deaths
Leaving many people now no longer drawing breath,
It was an awful and painful mess
Which left her sad and bereft,
But as a Queen and lionheart
She had played her deadly part,
And now she chose to leave,
To succour those who still could breath,
She was an amazing sight to see
This powerful lionheart and Queen,
She was their heroine and their dream
She was their lionheart and Queen.
*heroine.
