Take to the streets

It’s time to take to the streets

With our placards and our songs,

It’s time to reassert our liberties and freedom,

It’s time to challenge the law of force

That is supposed to protect us,

But we know they are the ones

Most likely to beat us,

But we must still take to the streets

And start to begin demonstrating,

But instead of showing violence

We must do it peacefully and with love,

But demand that people come

Before big business and mass corporations,

Because we deserve that much respect

Across every single nation,

We are the people after all

And we are the power,

And if you don’t believe this

Well bestow on your system,

Your final fucking hour

Before we bring you down,

With our frustration and desperation

As we take to the streets you better fear our intentions,

For we’ll sweep you from office

And replace you with some entity that cares,

And who gets that it’s important

To offer equality and who shares,

For this trickle down theory

That you maintain just doesn’t work,

And it leaves many of us

In a place of poverty and hurt,

So that’s why we must take to the streets

And start to redress the balance,

But we cannot use violence

We must utilise the power of our love and peace,

To bring their corrupt systems down.
