Some people think

There’s nothing to worry about,

So they stifle our messages

Our slogans and shouts,

Global warming and climate change

Apparently it is like Covid in some way,

A ploy by those who seek to control us

May with Covid I would agree with that view,

But climate change actually exists

And global warming is within our midst,

How you can’t see it is a mystery to me

But glued to your ever present mobile screen,

I guess a lot of the obvious may pass you by

As the media on your phone feeds you lies,

Have you no care for future generations

Like your kids that you keep dumbed down

Because they’re being subdued on their PlayStations,

Ignore the climate truth and it’ll go away

Is that what you think, you don’t see the decay,

As the ice caps melt and the seas rise

Will you then believe it with your own eyes,

Or will you just take a selfie to document the end of time

Like you still believe everything will work out fine,

Is this what humanities become a fucking digital joke

Is the only way to get through to you is by giving you a poke,

Or an instant message or a witty meme

Look out of the window, you won’t believe what you see,

Forest fires, rising tides and so much more

Exacerbate this with the continuous wars,

That has wreaked damage and destruction

On a global scale, like cutting down rainforests,

Were our protests about this of no avail

Not enough listened and so not enough was done, did we fail?

So I have to break it to you that carrying on this way

Will lead us down the path we didn’t need to go,

To mankind’s mass extinction and yet you’ll still declare you didn’t know

Despite being in the background you could hear our screams and wails.
