The fall

Crestfallen i dived deep down

Into the dark abyss no sight of the ground,

Forever falling wondering when will it end

Then without knowing how, I sprouted wings

Which helped me arrest the neverending fall,

My heart and soul emboldened and I began to glow

And found the path in which to follow,

That saw myself raise upwards on an airstream flow,

Soaring high I burst out of the abyss into the night sky

Emblazoned with a multitude of stars and a full moon,

Still I glowed and my wings shone pure gold

And I realised now that I was free to go

Anywhere I wanted, because I was now as always the one in control,

I just needed to believe it and stop listening to those who were deceiving

Because they didn’t want me believing,

In my own mind, heart, strength and power.
