A cold crisis

It’s an icy blast

The beast from the east,

And times of crisis

When you can’t afford the heat,

Because gas is too expensive

Some just won’t get by

And I worry that some people may just die,

While energy companies

Build their profits high,

And the government won’t help

Because all they do is lie.

Soon there’ll be snow on the ground

And sub zero temperatures,

And people who are ill equipped

Won’t be able to venture,

Out to the shops

Where food prices are on the rise,

It feels like a war against the poor

And the poor are always going to die,

While the rich get richer

And live out their luxury lives,

Where is the equality

How can this be right,

Where money is the definition

Of who should make it

And how will survive.
