Daffodils and you

Like the daffodils that appear in spring

Bright and colourful you also bring,

Radiance into my vision and my life

Just like the daffodils you’re warm and bright,

You’re like a fresh new dawn eschewing beauty

As if being that amazing is your duty,

I hold my breath during the winter

In anticipation of your appearance and when I glimpse you,

My heart will sing and my soul will be restored

My hopes and dreams will then soar,

Someone as beautiful as you cannot be ignored,

Because you bring about the start of new beginnings

And you can hear the sounds of nature and my heart singing,

You make everyday worth living

And I cannot wait for spring to offer my thanksgiving.
