From this look out post upon a mountain
I can see for miles across this land,
And can see natures resplendent beauty
And the damage caused by man’s hand,
It’s like a scar, it’s like a blot as if a cancer
Yet I trust one day nature will find a way,
To eradicate and to heal this and wash it all away,
But as the birds fly over then perch and sing
And as the sun rises and starts shining,
I realise the wonder in everything, just like a dream,
It carries me away into mindfulness and bliss
As I bask in this environmental kiss,
I know if I could make just one wish
I’d ask for an eternity of living life like this,
At one with the planet on which I am blessed to exist.
