Both sides of nature

The river tricked over stones

Its peaceful sound made it feel like home,

The tranquil waters lapping at the edges

Said more than words have ever said,

That night a mighty storm came in

And now the river it was ravaging,

And it was long and deep and it spread hide

It burst the rivers bank on either side,

I watched with my eyes open wide

And realised this is nature when it’s wild,

It swept over rocks, moss and stones

I swear that I could hear the riverbed groan,

It was for now no longer tranquil nor my home

Two sides of nature I have now been shown,

And it mirrors many people that I know

Who has two sides of nature,

One calm and serene the other is mean

One side is tranquil, the other noisy and wild,

Both sides bring balance though you may not see

Both sides are within both you and me.
