I hear you weeping

Quiet in the night I hear you weeping

Within your bed in which you are sleeping,

You’ve been through so much it hurts me to know

I am here for you but feel impotent to show,

You the kind of help and healing that you need

You I know have suffered so much grief,

More than anybody truly deserves

It’s no wonder why your heart aches and is hurt,

I hold you, hug but that doesn’t seem enough

I am happy to give you all my times as well as my love,

But I know now you’ll always feel incomplete

By the losses you’ve suffered and you feel weak,

But the fact you are still here and carrying on

Shows to mean you’re inspiring and so strong,

And though you may not feel it, trust me you are

And for me you are my radiant shining star,

Which is why I want to always be where you are

And I will be here for you caring so you don’t fall apart,

Because to me you are so precious, a fine work of art

Crafted from the torturous flames of suffering and pain.

A beautiful and sad poem. Healing takes time.

  2. Absolutely beautiful poem. It moved me deeply! I think grief is a universal language, and is resonates well. You have managed to say so much in so few words, and those words bring a sense of comfort. Nicely penned!
