Spirituality sees us awaken

And to the core we feel shaken,

We realise things are breaking

All within man’s destructive making,

The toxicity that’s getting worse

All of the suffering, pain and hurt,

That’s imposed on people around the world

Because of poverty caused by greed,

Through the destruction of our ecology

Because of wars spreading like a disease,

Spiritual awakening opens our eyes,

Through the activation of the mind

It clears away the conditioning,

That was imposed from birth

Reminds you of your own worth,

It makes you question everything,

Because you now care and because you’re aware

You’ve become alert now because you dared,

To open yourself up to the universe and truth

And the universe has given you the proof,

That change is needed, we need more love

We need more peace and caring now times are tough,

Our ecology requires much more from us,

We need to nurture more and to exploit nature less

We need to show appreciation for our lives of which we are blessed

We are placed here and given a test,

To ensure we live the best of our lives

While we are here, because we won’t survive,

Life is impermanent and it is short

So let’s make a difference of a sort,

Use our spirituality to inspire change

Be aware, awake and change the game.
