My mother and father possessed no wealth but they loved me so much I had great mental health, I never felt neglected or invisible, the gave whatever was possible and although it was not much, I appreciated it more and what I received I knew came with such love but now these parents give to shut their kids up and kids demand more and more and there less love, attached to what goes on it’s all so tough as material gifting takes the place of love, where it’s not in emotions where parents try to demonstrate their love but in expensive items which kids create so much but the appreciation just is not there, like it used to be and nobody seems to care.
Love by proxy.
Increasingly more things we do nowadays we do by proxy, because “we don’t have time for this or that”.
We don’t have time to write full words – we use shorthands or acronyms.
We don’t have time to type ‘I love you’ or ‘I like that’ – we just click on a heart emoji.
We don’t have time to hug our children when they leave for school – we do ‘air kiss’.
And so on and so forth. We just don’t have time.

Agree, my parents were poor in todays standards, today possessions and wealth are often used as bargaining tools, and sometimes parents just heap so much wealth assistance on their kids they become self indulgent, irresponsible and stupid.
