How you treat those around you, says a lot about you, and if you don’t think others see how you treat people, then think again. Respect is a cornerstone to human interaction and if you don’t have it, because you don’t show it, then you will not be seen as treating people right. You will be judged on this.

This one’s tricky.
I believe respect must be rightfully earned, and not be a given.
And not the kind of respect born from fear or out of obedience – but a true respect for a person’s views and actions, for what they stand for, for their inner character.
Good people instantly gain respect from other good people.
Bad people shouldn’t gain any respect, ever – not even through fear or manipulation. To me, liking a person and respecting a person go hand in hand.
If I like a person I respect them. If I don’t like a person I find it hard to respect them because usually they are not worthy of that respect.
But that’s just me.
