Don’t influence, be inspiring

Maybe it’s my age

That I just don’t understand

What do those influencers do?

Most of them seem bereft of talent

But they make into life’s who’s who,

Many of them, are wanna be celebs

But many can’t act or sing,

They just do vlogs talking about

So many unimportant things,

You Tube, Tick Tock they’re everywhere

Yet I still don’t get what they do,

Other than trying to sell or promote things

To the likes of me and you,

But all I see is clones trying to look like them

Act and pretend their lives are the same,

Why be influenced by anyone?

Please, live your life your own unique way,

Set your own style and say what you think

Not what others want from you,

Or what is classed as acceptable

Be a shining individual,

That when you were cast, they broke that mould

Don’t be bought and don’t be sold,

Be different and imperial,

Don’t let influencers influence you

You be the one influencing and then be true,

To the real issues, problems and plights

That those who are struggling suffer in life,

Stand up for those with no voice

Promote equality, love and peace as a choice,

Be the light that those in need seek,

In fact don’t become and influencer

Instead of becoming an inspirational dream,

And a muse ready to ascend

To lift people up from their dead ends.
