You ask me why at times I look angry
Why is it that I wear a frown,
Maybe it’s because I decided to visit
The places within my home town,
Where people are finding it hard
Simply, to buy enough food to eat,
And we see laying around us
People living rough out on the streets,
You ask me why it is that I am sad
Well it’s not always been this bad,
So why would I be happy
When I know that we’ve been had,
By the government and corporations
Who are getting wealthier, doesn’t it make you mad?
Sucking off of the life blood
Of the wages that we are paid,
And the taxes we’re forced to pay,
And yet nothing seems to change,
It seems that we the people, are always he ones to blame,
For the state of our economy,
And for the mess that is our society,
Of which our government takes
Absolutely no responsibility,
The greedy corporations and media even less
And even though we have no control,
Apparently it’s all our fault,
But it doesn’t matter who you vote for
Whichever way you’re caught,
Because they’re all the same in one way
They will all force us to pay,
Not the bankers with their bonuses
Earning ten times above a nurses wage,
It’s a twisted situation
In a truly twisted age,
This is something politicians won’t address
And there’s a simple reason for this,
It’s because if you know anything
You know these these billionaires are greed obsessed,
And they’ll use us all to earn more
While ensuring that we are paid less.
So you ask me why I am angry
You ask me why I wear a frown,
It’s because I am not happy
With what you’re doing to our cities and towns
And why would we be happy
Being ruled by a greedy bunch of clowns.
