The best life

I got myself a pretty wife

She puts glam in my life,

I got myself a flashy car

I am hoping it will take me far,

I got an awesome well paid job

Which I hope will impress a lot,

I got all these things sorted

So why am I not satisfied,

Could it be because it doesn’t mean much

In life’s true and honest reality,

See these all things are attachments

Which does not enrich your soul,

And you soon find out they don’t seem as important when you get old,

Health and inner peace and happiness

Is all that will matter

You can still suffer from depression

Even as your bank account gets fatter,

And that car doesn’t seem to take you are far as you need,

And that house and wife were ok until she took half when she decided to leave,

Give me a life of more substance

Give me the knowledge I did more,

That I shared love and cared for people

Picking up others off of the floor,

This is a life that I believe

Is the most important to me,

This is life, the life I think

It is an amazing life to lead.

  1. Beautiful! I only got to line 1, and everything else went south. “I got myself a pretty wife…. and that was the end for me! #$%@”

    1. That was the point, some people marry solely on looks, if you read on you’d know she left and took half his stuff. He went for style over substance. Some people live their whole life that way and end up with the shallow life they created for themselves. Thanks for reading the 1st line and the feedback though my friend 🙏 Faux
