Mankind resists nature

Humanities existence

It seems resistant,

To natures flow

It seems to go against

As if we think that we know,

Better than what created all things,

We do not seem to want to live in harmony

With our environment

And we witness this,

With the way we pollute,

By doing things that earn the bucks,

Doing just as it suits

Regardless of the consequences,

It is as if we just don’t care

But there is a price to be paid,

So we had best be aware

And you laugh when I say this,

And you mock me for running scared,

But it’s not me I am worried for

It’s the future generations out there,

But many are blind to this

And settle for living in ignorant bliss,

How can they be so reckless

With the future of their kids,

It’s because they only think about themselves

And their wealth which makes me sick,

Polluting skies with their pesticides

And the seas and rivers with oil slicks,

It is quite obvious humanity doesn’t give a shit,

About this planet we live on

On this earth we were given,

I hope that in the future we won’t be forgiven,

For not doing enough

And for not caring too much,

When our environment is depleted

Because the corporations run amuck,

And it’s us who could have stopped them

But we clearly didn’t give a fuck.
