Caged by thoughts

Caged by our own thoughts

That harbour fear and judgement,

We are always left constantly to wonder

If we meet others approval or standards,

And if other people like us

And when this happens we build a cage,

That keeps us forever stunted

Unable to grow or ever to really flourish,

Because acceptance is our most important goal

Worried that somehow we’ll be outcasts.
